We also use a variety of other fillers for the lips, depending on the patient’s goals, including Juvederm, Voluma, RHA 4, and Revanesse.
Our office is conveniently located in the North Shore, Wilmette, Winnetka, Evanston area. Many of our patients are able to get injections and look presentable the same day. We use both a cannula and no cannula and micro needle approach for our patient seeking lip enhancements.
Will Lip Filler Make My Lips Look Unnatural?

While everyone’s pain tolerance is different, the process is usually quick, and any discomfort is brief. Lip injections are typically performed with a numbing cream or local anesthetic, which helps to minimize discomfort. Many people describe the sensation as a slight pinch or pressure rather than pain. After the injections, you may experience some mild swelling or tenderness, but this typically subsides within a day or two. Overall, most patients find lip injections to be quite tolerable.
Many of our patients receive repeat injections every six months to a year, continuing to add to their lips.
For most patients, we don’t recommend multiple syringes in the lip, as the filler can migrate to other locations. We prefer to wait for the initial filler to stabilize before adding more filler.
There are longer-lasting fillers available, such as Voluma, RHA 4, or Contour, which can provide extended results. Permanent products, however, are generally not recommended for lip injections. Using substances like silicone or other permanent fillers can lead to complications over time, including issues with movement, asymmetry, or difficulty correcting the results if needed. It’s always safer to opt for temporary, reversible fillers that allow for adjustments and better long-term outcomes.
We recommend waiting 5-7 days before applying lipstick to your lips. This gives the filler time to settle.
All of our experienced providers have been individually trained by Dr. Anil Shah and Dr. Sameea Chughtai. Our providers utilize the same techniques that Dr. Shah and Dr. Sameea have developed for injecting the lips, giving our patients the results they love.
