Many of our patients seek improvement of our skin, blood vessels, removing hair and lasers can do all of these things. Lasers were invented in part by the discovery of Albert Einstein. There are specific theme of life that can treat one part of our skin. We use a variety of lasers to help a variety of skin types.
In our office, we use CO2 laser, Erbium laser IPL, and a series of radio frequency devices, as well as laser hair removal. For patients who are seeking changes In their skin or wanting to remove hair. Most lasers are used to smooth the skin or remove the signs of aging. For some patients, the signs of aging can be lined in wrinkles while others, it can show up as browns and reds along the skin, also known as discolorations. Either way, we seek to improve the quality of someone’s skin and lasers are a good step.
All skin care products can be helpful in maintaining skin. We find that lasers can be the most effective treatment for many patients to recondition and improve their skin overall. Sunscreen is important To block out sun damage. However, by the time someone’s using sunscreen, it will not reverse damage.
Many of our patients will opt for a series of laser treatments, including laser peels, Laser tightening, radiofrequency, tightening, and removing discoloration using the series of our laser devices. All of our providers are expertly trained by Dr. Anil Shah and Dr. Sameea Chughtai and are well qualified to help you achieve your aesthetic goals. Resurfacing the face can help patients tighten their skin while aesthetic light, such as IPL and Pico lasers can help remove brown spots and red discolorations.
Typically not. With newer numbing anesthetic agents, patients are able to tolerate lasers much more comfortably. Many patients have no discomfort or mild discomfort at all. We can use a variety of cooling devices as well to help.
Dr. Anil Shah is well regarded in the field of aesthetics and is a key of opinion leader for several laser companies. He is also a national speaker for one of the laser companies for Canada. He has also written many research papers on the topic of lasers and spends time to teach the Aesthetic Skin North Shore staff in weekly aesthetic meetings about the latest devices and techniques.
Not necessarily. It depends on which type of laser treatment you get. Some laser treatments can have downtime for up to a week while others have almost no downtime. Typically of late, treatments are going to be more extensive in downtime versus light-based treatments have less downtime.
The best season to get a laser treatment for our patients are going to be in either the winter or the fall. Typically, summer is difficult for patients to get laser treatment because the sun is out and that seasonality in Chicago, most patients want to enjoy summer. Although that being said, we have patients who get laser treatment year round.
