BROWN SPOTS IN NORTH SHORE, IL

WHAT ARE BROWN SPOTS?

one of the most common issues that patients complain about are brown spots or hyperpigmentation. This is super common and many of our patients in the North Shore will complain of these skin issues. I, brown spots can be darkened by the sun, as well as with aging. Let’s define what brown spots in hyperpigmentation are all about.

As we get older, our skin will sometimes make abnormal changes in pigmentation. For some patients, this can lead to the creation of areas of brown pigmentation or hyperpigmentation in the skin. For these patients, a variety of treatments can be used.

Hyperpigmentation - Brown Spots

IPL

The most commonly used strategy is to use something called IPL. IPL is where the skin is uniformly made more even in coloration. The patients who are not good candidates for this are patients with darker skin types. Most patients who use IPL use a series of one to three treatments.

PICO LASER

Another treatment that is going to be effective for brown spots is going to be Pico Laser. A Pico laser is where the browns can be directly treated. This is better for patients with darker skin types, where we can use a 10 64 nanometer laser.

PEELS & ERBIUM LASER

Other treatments for brown spots and hyperpigmentation include a variety of peels which can treat the skin and make the pigmentation overall more even. There are some lasers as well that are ablative that can treat texture and browns, such as an erbium laser.
