These are both newer types of procedures and facials out there. The old style of facials relied on pushing on the face to extract sebum and dirt from the face manually. The problem with this approach is many times it’s not only uncomfortable, but patients would realize that much of the dirt would be pushed back further into the skin, leading to clogged pores, inflammation, and even infection. This is why we use and prefer Hydrafacials and Diamond Glow Facials, where a water-assisted vacuum gently extracts sebum, making the process more effective and comfortable.

Here’s how they both work. Once the skin is prepped, water is pushed into the pores and then sucked out, removing all the dirt and debris inside. A series of treatments can be performed at the same time, including light chemical peels for exfoliation and other types of aesthetic treatments.
