These are both newer types of procedures and facials out there. The old style of facials relied on pushing on the face to extract sebum and dirt from the face manually. The problem with this approach is many times it’s not only uncomfortable, but patients would realize that much of the dirt would be pushed back further into the skin, leading to clogged pores, inflammation, and even infection. This is why we use and prefer Hydrafacials and Diamond Glow Facials, where a water-assisted vacuum gently extracts sebum, making the process more effective and comfortable.
Here’s how they both work. Once the skin is prepped, water is pushed into the pores and then sucked out, removing all the dirt and debris inside. A series of treatments can be performed at the same time, including light chemical peels for exfoliation and other types of aesthetic treatments. Most patients find that this is the best way to get a deep cleanse of their skin. Learn more about the differences between Hydrafacials and Diamond Glow Facials here.
WHO PERFORMS HYDRAFACIAL | DIAMOND GLOW AT AESTHETIC SKIN?
We have a variety of providers who perform detailed skin work on our patients.
The goal of these treatments is to improve the skin’s appearance and overall texture, as well as clean the skin.
Many of our patients will do a HydraFacial before starting other aesthetic procedures. Many of our surgical patients will also do a HydraFacial post surgery to help get their blood-stained skin cleaned.
IS A HYDRAFACIAL OR DIAMOND GLOW PAINFUL?
No. Patients find these facials to be much more comfortable than a traditional facial. Traditional facials involve a lot of pushing into the face and manually extracting sebum and dirt. A hydrafacial, on the other hand, is much more effective and gentler.
WHEN WILL I SEE MY RESULTS?
Most patients will immediately notice that their skin is clean. Our providers also show you the amount of debris that’s been sucked down in the container. Patients are often shocked at the large amount of debris in there.
